Kerrie Slade’s Beaded Kazuri Kritters in Bead & Button Magazine!

Remember Kerrie Slade’s amazing beaded Kazuri button animals we featured a while back? Well, this Design Team member wanted to write a tutorial for them so others could make their own. However, Kerrie explained on her blog that “The pins were originally going to be published as a project in Bead and Button, but it was later discovered that they are not as simple as they perhaps look and so they are not really suitable for a project.”

Introducing the Kazuri Tree of Life Ceramic Discs and Free Tutorial

Pearl Blay of The Beading Gem, one of our Design Team members, worked with us to help develop a new Kazuri product. These multi holed ceramic discs can be used to hang beaded dangles. But when the row of holes are positioned to the top of the pendants, they become the anchor points for making unique wired tree of life designs!

Winners of the Handmade Slider Bead Contest

The judges had a hard time trying to decide which designs deserved to win in our most recent handmade slider bead contest.  Entrants used a variety of techniques and materials in their designs which all showed the versatility of Kazuri ceramic and Samunnat Nepal beads in jewelry making.

The winning pieces were chosen on the basis of creativity, composition and craftmanship.
